Privacy Policy

NoiseCase · Last updated 1 September 2026

NoiseCase does not collect your personal information. There is no account, there are no servers belonging to us, and nothing you record is transmitted anywhere. Everything below is detail on that.

Microphone

NoiseCase uses the microphone to measure sound levels. It does not record or store audio. The app reads the loudness of what the microphone hears several times per second, keeps those numbers, and discards the sound itself. No audio file is written to your device at any point, which means there is no recording of your home, your neighbours, or any conversation for anyone — including us — to access.

Location

If you grant location access, NoiseCase records the coordinates and approximate street address where each session took place, so that an exported report can state where the noise was measured. This is stored on your device alongside that session and is never sent to us. Declining location permission does not prevent you from using the app; reports simply omit the address.

What is stored, and where

Your cases, sessions, sound level measurements, notes, calibration setting and name are stored in the app's own storage on your device. They are included in your device backup if you use iCloud Backup, under Apple's terms rather than ours. They are removed when you delete the app.

Reports you export

Exporting produces a PDF on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. What happens next is your decision — whether you email it, save it, or send it to a landlord or attorney. NoiseCase does not upload, retain, or receive a copy of any report you create.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple, and by RevenueCat, Inc., which we use to verify that a purchase was made and to remember that you own the unlimited export unlock. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and the details of the transaction. It does not receive your name, your recordings, your locations, or your reports. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy, and Apple's handling of the payment itself is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Analytics and advertising

There are none. NoiseCase contains no advertising, no analytics or crash reporting service, and no tracking of any kind. We do not know how many times you have opened the app or what you have recorded.

Children

NoiseCase is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, this is a statement of intent rather than a data practice.

Your control over your data

Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot delete it for you, export it for you, or produce it in response to a request from anyone else.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. If a change ever meant the app began collecting data it does not collect today, we would say so plainly in the app before it took effect.
